JS&AIntedco reached an agreement with the Josef Silny and Associates, Inc., International Education Consultants (JS&A) aimed to joining efforts in helping higher education institutions and students in their accreditation, credentials evaluation, and internationalization processes.
JS&A is a Member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).

URBEThe Universidad Rafael Belloso Chacin (URBE) in Maracaibo, Venezuela, was the first higher education institution in the country that received the Certification of University from INTEDCO. In a protocolar act, the Rector Dr. Oscar Belloso Medina received from Dr. Gil Fonthal, President of INTEDCO, the Certification. Accompanying the act were Mr. Geoge Quintero, Consul of the United States in Maracaibo, and selected authorities of the institution. See gallery of photos. USILINTEDCO was invited to the III Feria de Convenios Internacionales at the Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola in Lima, Peru. A stand and a speach was included to inform university graduates about the equivalence of studies to be valid in the United States. See gallery of photos.

Dr. Gil Fonthal visited the University Rafael Belloso Chacin in Maracaibo, Venezuela where its authorities received with enthusiasm the process of certification. This university would be the first in Venezuela to be certified. These individual certifications would be based on INTEDCO's independent assessment of curricula, faculty, physical facilities and national recognition of each institution and will characterize each in terms of its US comparable accredited institutions.

He presented a lecture titled: La Acreditación, la Certificación y la Internacionalización de la Educación Superior: Una Perspectiva Global para el Perú. Universidad del QuindioPresident and CEO, Dr. Gil Fonthal, visits the Universidad del Quindio in the Republic of Colombia in South America.

On November 16, 2004, Dr. Gil Fonthal attended an invitation from the Universidad del Quindio in Colombia, where he presented a lecture titled Narrowing the gap between secondary and higher education through academic standards. The local newspaper (La Cronica) published an interview for the event.

Colombia’s Science Foundation (COLCIENCIAS) approved the creation of the Excellence Center for Novel Materials (ECNM), which will be located at the Universidad del Valle in Cali. The center will administer a budget close to $5 Million dollars for five years. The center is the result of a grant proposal leaded by Dr. Pedro Prieto with the participation of several research institutions of the country. The mission of the Center is to perform scientific research and graduate student training related to Materials Science at the highest level of excellence; to integrate research, education, and technology dissemination; and serve as a national resource for fundamental knowledge and applications, in guided knowledge, design, and applications of modern materials. The center will receive national support from the ASTIN-SENA Technological Institute, and international support from world-renowned materials research institutes such as the Nanotechnology Center at North Western University, Illinois, the Thin Film and Nanoscience Group at University of California – San Diego, and the International Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Materials, CIMAT, at Santiago de Chile.
